Curtis Cathcart, DVM
Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons Small Animal

I was born, raised, and went through school in Edmonton, Alberta. Although I grew up in the city I filled my time riding horses at the local barn and finally when 17 years old got my first dog. (I am now surrounded by my beloved 4 dogs and 4 cats) I always had a strong connection to animals which impacted my career path.

After graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999 I headed West working as a small animal veterinarian in the Greater Vancouver area, until I purchased a practice in Victoria 2 years later. My interest in surgery was always strong and eventually drew me away from the practice and on an 8 year journey toward small animal surgery specialization. Various internships, research positions, and residency took me to Texas, California, Georgia, Ohio, and finally full circle back to Saskatoon as a surgeon on staff at WCVM.

I completed board certification as a small animal surgeon while my wife took on her masters and senior residency in clinical pathology and now has completed her board certification and has joined the college as a clinical pathologist. I am excited to now be able to offer specialty surgery service in Saskatoon and surrounding area in conjunction with your local veterinary clinic.
